São Paulo, September 2024 – Luis Silva, CEO and founder of CloudWalk, was named one of the 500 most influential people in Latin America and the Caribbean for 2024 by Bloomberg Línea. The list highlights top Latin Americans who make an impact and inspire millions through their work in various economic and social sectors.
According to Bloomberg, Luis is leading a fintech growing at 50% per year, using technologies like AI and blockchain to increase efficiency and drive business growth. His global ambition and partnerships with top investors have positioned CloudWalk as a promising fintech in the region.
Bloomberg's methodology is based on factors such as job creation, investments that triggered larger economic activities, and influence in finance and other fields. The list also considers an editorial review by Bloomberg Línea over the 12 months leading up to publication.
Luis Silva expressed his satisfaction: "The ranking criteria highlight the impact CloudWalk has made through our InfinitePay platform on the economy and our clients' lives." He noted that, in the past year alone, the company tripled its client base, surpassing 2.5 million micro, small, and medium-sized Brazilian entrepreneurs. “It feels like we are just at the beginning of our journey,” he added.
Exceptional Trajectory
Luis Silva is a serial entrepreneur who led CloudWalk to a valuation of $2.15 billion. In 2019, CloudWalk launched InfinitePay, a financial services platform for SMEs that transformed the payments landscape in Brazil. The company now has over 2.5 million clients and is crossing the $500 million Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) mark. In 2024, CloudWalk announced its expansion to the United States with Jim.com, a payments app for micro-entrepreneurs.
Born in 1984 to a humble family in the countryside of São Paulo, Luis received a computer at age 11, as his father believed it would be the profession of the future. Self-taught in programming, he started his career as a software engineer and launched his first company in 2005 at age 21. CloudWalk is his sixth venture.
