AML-FT Analyst – Data & AI | Jobs at CloudWalk

We are seeking a hands-on and analytical AML-FT Analyst to strengthen our transaction monitoring and financial crime prevention capabilities through data science and artificial intelligence.

In this role, you will analyze customer, merchant, transaction, behavioral, and external data to identify financial-crime risks, improve monitoring strategies, and develop scalable AML-FT controls. You will also evaluate and optimize AI-supported compliance systems by validating automated decisions, improving detection models, and ensuring they remain accurate, explainable, and aligned with regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate combines expertise in AML-FT with strong technical skills in Python, SQL, data analytics, data science, and Large Language Models (LLMs), and is comfortable working in a fast-paced, technology-driven regulated environment.

What You'll Do

Analyze large-scale customer, merchant, transaction, behavioral, and payment data to identify financial-crime risks and suspicious activity.
Use Python and SQL to extract, transform, validate, and analyze complex datasets.
Design, develop, and optimize transaction monitoring alerts, detection rules, risk indicators, risk-scoring methodologies, and AI models to identify anomalous and suspicious transactions.
Evaluate AI-supported compliance systems by validating automated decisions, identifying false positives and false negatives, and improving prompts, thresholds, guardrails, and decision logic.
Build test datasets, benchmarks, regression tests, and performance metrics to monitor AI and AML control effectiveness.
Apply data science techniques such as statistical analysis, anomaly detection, clustering, classification, predictive modeling, feature engineering, and network analysis.
Investigate complex payment flows, customer and merchant behavior, and financial-crime typologies.
Develop analytical tools, dashboards, automations, and AI-enabled solutions to support investigations and Compliance operations.
Document methodologies, testing, assumptions, and recommendations while collaborating with Product, Engineering, Risk, and Compliance teams.
Support audits, model validation, regulatory reviews, and continuous improvement of AML controls and AI governance.

What You Need to Succeed

Experience in AML, CTF, fraud prevention, compliance analytics, transaction monitoring, data science, or related fields.
Strong understanding of transaction monitoring, financial-crime typologies, customer and merchant risk, and investigative processes.
Proficiency in Python and SQL for data analysis, automation, and model development.
Experience applying statistical analysis, anomaly detection, machine learning, network analysis, or predictive modeling.
Experience developing or validating transaction monitoring rules, detection models, risk scores, or AI-assisted decision systems.
Experience with LLMs, AI agents, prompt engineering, or automated decision-making workflows.
Ability to evaluate AI performance using structured testing, quality assurance, and performance metrics.
Strong analytical, documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to translate technical findings into business and Compliance recommendations.
Professional proficiency in English.
Knowledge of Brazilian AML regulations, LGPD, and governance requirements for automated decision-making is highly desirable.

Nice to Have

Experience in payments, banking, merchant acquiring, cards, Pix, digital accounts, or other regulated financial services.
Experience with Google Cloud Platform, Looker, Metabase, or similar analytics platforms.
Experience with embeddings, RAG, vector databases, AI agents, graph databases, entity resolution, or link analysis.
Experience building or validating AML, fraud, or merchant-risk models.
Familiarity with model governance, explainability, bias monitoring, Git, APIs, notebooks, and data pipelines.
Experience supporting regulatory reporting, audits, or AML quality assurance.
CAMS, CFCS, CFE, or similar certifications.
